Number of products in the Obagi Nu Derm System are prescription only and clients undergoing the treatment regime are supervised by the clinic’s Obagi qualified doctor. The initial consultation fees is £50 and the monthly follow up appointments are £25 while you are using these products.
The system effectively removes damaged skin layers thereby revealing new, vibrant and healthy skin. Through correct use significant improvement in the skins appearance can be observed within a six-week period. Skin subjected to Obagi Nu Derm will move through three distinct stages: Repair stage, Improvement stage and Final stage.
It is paramount that adequate UV protection is used throughout treatment and where possible sun exposure minimised. SPF 50 is advised.
During the repair stage the skin reacts to the system’s products. Typically, the skin becomes red, dry and irritated and begins to flake. Such reactions can be controlled by minimising how much product is used and how frequently it is applied.
Correct use of the system will result in noticeably improved skin quality at around six weeks. The old, damaged layers of skin have been removed revealing new, healthy skin. Reactions experienced at the Repair stage are less evident now.
At the Final stage skin is fully renewed and the objectives of the system have been achieved. The time taken to reach this stage depends on the skins condition prior to commencing the regime. Upon completion of the system a maintenance program will be discussed with your prescribing practitioner.
The following are the components of the system: A. To prepare the skin: Foaming Gel or Gentle Cleanser (No 1) depending on normal, dry or oily skin Toner (No 2) B. To improve the skin: Clear (No 3) Exfoderm® Forte or Exfoderm® (No 4) depending on whether the skin is normal, dry or oily. C. To stimulate the formation of healthy skin: Clear, Blender and Tretinoin. D. To protect the skin: Healthy Skin Protection SPF50 and Sunfader® Physical UV Block (No6).
