Restylane® products are long-lasting but not permanent. The duration of effect varies between individuals and is dependant on many factors, such as skin type, age, life style and activity level. The majority of clients require follow-up treatment between six and twelve months after their initial treatment for wrinkles and facial contouring. For lip treatments, a top-up treatment is usually required between three and six months. Once totally absorbed the products are naturally eliminated from the body.
Following treatment it is normal to experience slight redness, tenderness and swelling in the treated area. These side effects are only temporary and are typically resolved within a few days post treatment. Swelling following lip augmentation can last up to a week and it is normal during this time for lips to appear uneven. Once swelling subsides the full aesthetic result of treatment can be observed.
Clients are offered a follow up appointment two weeks post treatment where touch ups can be administered if necessary.
